If you don’t want it spoiled, stop right Campbell Bower was such a convincing villain in his Vecna suit — which took seven hours to put on in the makeup chair — that he actually made Millie Bobby Brown cry real tears of fright while filming one of the scenes in Season 4 of Stranger spilled the details in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, and it’s pretty juicy. But first, if you need a quick refresher on Bower’s character, he actually has three different roles — and we learned about another, fourth role that Vecna has secretly been playing the whole time in the last of all, he plays Vecna: the slimy, nasty villain who breaks people’s limbs and gouges their eyes out. Vecna who was banished to the Upside Down when Eleven attempted to kill him after he massacred all of Dr. Brenner’s (Matthew Modine) other test subjects at Hawkins Lab. And that brings us to Bower’s other character — 001, Dr. Brenner’s very first human lab rat. But before he was 001 or Vecna, he was Henry Creel, the spider-loving little boy who caused his father, Victor Creel, to go to prison for the murder of Henry’s mother and sister. Of course, it was really Henry who did those murders, and he continued that signature killing style as Bower’s secret fourth role is more of a figurative one than a literal one. We learned in the final episode that Vecna has been controlling the Mind Flayer since Season 1, and that every time Will Byers feels that slithery, Voldemort-style feeling on the back of his neck that lets him know what the Mind Flayer is up to, he’s really hearing the dastardly thoughts of Vecna. To be clear, Bower just joined the cast in Season 4, so the revelation that Vecna was really the Mind Flayer the whole time just puts everything in Now that that’s all covered, on to the juicy part — Bower’s terrifying effect on his scene partner, Millie Bobby Brown.“The stuff at the Snow Ball is at Hawkins, at the high school. And then the stuff in the Mind Lair was on set in Atlanta. The reaction that you see from Millie in episode nine when she’s strung up, that’s genuine and honest,” he told The Hollywood Read: Down With the King Is for Everyone Who Loves Film, Hip-Hop and the Great OutdoorsYou know, the part where Eleven is crying and trying to get out of Vecna’s tentacle clutches in the last episode of Season 4? Yeah, Bower says Brown was crying real tears during that scene.“She was terrified and freaked out. And Caleb [Heymann], our DP, was very smart and saw that she was having this reaction in the beginning of rehearsal and decided to shoot her first. It’s so pure and beautiful,” Bower said.“It was lovely to have this battle, this epic battle as it were, but it’s drawn out. It’s so much more elongated than it is in the Volume 1 finale. There is this back and forth of power-sharing. And each actor has their own way of being their own character.”The Season 4 finale left off with Vecna wounded but not dead; Eleven reunited with Hopper; Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) dead; Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) in a coma; Hawkins mostly destroyed, and particles from the Upside Down snowing all over the town, setting up what the gang will be up against next season when they presumably try to kill Vecna once and for all. But we’ll have to wait until the fifth and final season comes out to find out how this story truly 1 and 2 of Season 4 of Stranger Things are now streaming on Image: Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna in Stranger Things, courtesy of Netflix. CelebrityMillie Bobby Brown“This is me basically defending myself against these Millie Bobby Brown accusations and explaining that there are lives behind it, and it's nothing to do with my sensitivity.”Posted on July 6, 2022, 1:09 pm Back in May, the much-anticipated fourth season of Netflix hit Stranger Things finally reached our screens after being severely delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Netflix Fans were delighted as Eleven and the gang returned for more supernatural happenings in their hometown of Hawkins, Indiana. Netflix The series has followed the same group of kids since Season 1, with Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Will, and Dustin being the OGs, and Sadie Sink joining as Max in Season 2. Netflix Mike’s sister, Nancy Wheeler, her ex-boyfriend, Steve Harrington, Chief of Police Jim Hopper, and Will’s mom, Joyce Byers, are the other major characters to have starred in the show from the first episode. Netflix And, in a move that is particularly shocking in this day and age, every single one of the central characters has made it to the fourth season. Netflix In a world where TV shows are constantly making headlines for their cut-throat decisions to kill off major actors in key roles at the drop of a hat, Stranger Things has kept its killings to a minimum — despite constantly putting its leads in life-threatening situations. Netflix And while this is a decision that has been widely welcomed by fans, one of the show’s breakout stars, Millie Bobby Brown, recently dragged its creators, the Duffer Brothers, as she accused them of being too scared to kill anybody off. Theo Wargo / Getty Images In fact, the British actor called showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer “sensitive Sallies” as she advised them to take a page out of Game of Thrones’ book, which was notorious for its relentless character deaths. HBO Millie was just 12 years old when she was cast as Eleven in Stranger Things, and she even volunteered her character to be killed off as she shared her gripe with the series in a recent interview. Netflix During a conversation with the Wrap in May, Millie and her costar Noah Schnapp — who plays Will — were asked what they want to happen in future episodes. “You want Will to die,” Millie abruptly told Noah, who was visibly confused as he replied: “No? To die?” “Oh, you don’t?” Millie asked, to which Noah said, “Oh, I mean, I guess at the end
” before deciding: “No, I don’t want [him] to die.” Netflix Millie then told the interviewer, “The thing is, we’re all afraid of one of us dying.” Noah mused, “One of us will die.” Netflix “They need to kill off some people, it’s too big,” he joked, and Millie was quick to share her agreement as she added: “It’s way too big. Last night we couldn’t even take one group picture because there were like 50 of us. I was like, you need to start killing people off.” Roy Rochlin / Getty Images "The Duffer Brothers are two sensitive Sallies that don't want to kill anyone off,” she went on. “We need to be Game of Thrones. We need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones." After saying that they should “kill me off,” Millie referenced Jim Hopper’s brush with death in Season 3 as she quipped: “They tried killing David [Harbour, who plays Hopper] off and they brought him back. It's ridiculous." And the Duffer Brothers have now responded to Millie’s criticism, but luckily for fans, they don’t seem too keen to take her advice on board. Emma Mcintyre / Getty Images for Netflix Speaking on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Matt said: “What did Millie call us? She said we were 'sensitive Sallies.' She's hilarious. Believe us, we've explored all options in the writing room.” Angela Weiss / AFP via Getty Images He went on to explain the complexities that come with killing off a major character as he continued: “Just as a complete hypothetical, if you kill Mike, it's like... That's depressing... We aren't Game of Thrones. This is Hawkins, it's not Westeros. The show becomes not Stranger Things anymore, because you do have to treat it realistically, right?" Netflix Matt then referenced the death of minor character Barb early in Season 1, sharing: “So even when Barb dies, there's two seasons' worth of grappling with that, so imagine — is that something we're interested in exploring or not interested in exploring?" Netflix But the writer went on to tease that more deaths could be “on the table” as “they are headed towards the end” of the show, before jokingly concluding: “This is me basically defending myself against these Millie Bobby Brown accusations and explaining that there are lives behind it, and it's nothing to do with my sensitivity. So there you go, Millie.” Alberto E. Rodriguez / Getty Images Which is something that Millie is sure to be receptive to, as elsewhere in her interview with the Wrap she reinforced her faith in the Duffer Brothers’ work. She explained at the time: “I trust the Duffer Brothers and their creative process, and what they’ve seen for Eleven has always been amazing and something I’ve always supported.” Netflix Meanwhile, Matt recently revealed that there were originally more deaths in the show, with Dimitri “Enzo” Antonov set to meet his maker in an original script. Netflix He told Collider: “In terms of who makes it, who lives or dies. I think there was a version where Dimitri, AKA Enzo, didn't make it. Then he ended up making it. But that's [the most] radical of a departure from the original idea versus what we ended up with." Netflix The revelation came amid confirmation that the next season of Stranger Things will be the last, and the Duffer Brothers have revealed that they already know what the ending is going to be. Netflix “We know what the ending is,” they told SFX. “It’s conceivable that it changes, but I think it's unlikely because it's one of those endings that just feels, and has always felt, right. And it also feels sort of inevitable. Then when you come up with it, you're like, 'oh yeah, well, that is absolutely what it has to be.'" Netflix Filming for the fifth and final season of the show is yet to begin, but Matt and Ross have promised fans that they won’t need to wait as long as they did for Season 4, telling Variety: “The gap should be quite a bit shorter this time, due to the fact that we already have an initial outline, and we can’t imagine there will be another six-month forced hiatus." David Livingston / Getty Images And while we wait with bated breath for the grand finale, we can only hope that Millie doesn’t get her wish and that all of the residents of Hawkins get their happily ever after

Millie Bobby Brown had a playful reaction to German Stranger Things fans, after learning that many of them hate Finn Wolfhard’s character, Mike Wheeler. Per The Independent, during an appearance at a fan Q&A panel held as part of German Comic Con, Brown, who plays Eleven — Mike’s love interest and protagonist in the show — was shocked to discover a surprising dislike of Wolfhard’s character. One fan quizzed her about the up-and-down relationship between Eleven and Mike in season four, to which she replied, “I mean, do you like him?” When the audience member responded that they did not, she said, “What?! You don’t like Mike? In Germany, you guys don’t like Mike?” The crowd then seemed to largely share the same reply: “No.” “In America, people love Mike,” the British actress said. “Can somebody tell me why they don’t like Mike? What’s wrong with him? He’s not a good boyfriend? Is that it?” One audience member claimed that the character had been a bad friend. “Oh, he’s not a good friend?” Brown asked, then said, “Oh that’s why. Okay. There’s not much I can say about that, although Finn, he’s a great friend. He’s like the bestest friend.” Season 4 of Stranger Things is currently streaming on Netflix. The fifth and final season will start development this August, Variety reported, with show creators the Duffer brothers having Season 5 pretty much mapped out. The Stranger Things creators have responded to Millie Bobby Brown’s criticism of the show not killing off enough main characters. Brown , who plays Eleven, told TheWrap in a joint interview with co-star Noah Schnapp, “We’re all afraid of one of us dying. It’s way too big. Last night, we couldn’t even take one group picture because there were like 50 of us. I was like, ‘You need to start killing people off.’” Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, added, “You just have to have one massacre scene where half the cast dies.” Millie, 18, continued to call the writers out. “The Duffer brothers are two Sensitive Sallies that don’t want to kill anyone off,” the British actress said. “We need to be Game of Thrones. We need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones.” She then demanded that the creators “kill me off,” adding, “They tried killing David [Harbour] (who plays Hopper) off and they brought him back. It’s ridiculous.” When the comments were mentioned in a new interview with the Duffer brothers, Matt Duffer defeatedly replied, “We heard,” adding, “What did Millie call us? She said we were ‘Sensitive Sallies.’ She’s hilarious. Believe us, we’ve explored all options in the writing room. Just as a complete hypothetical, if you kill Mike [Finn Wolfhard], it’s like
